CAD Formats and Exchange Standards

From SolidWorks: File → Save As → STEP (AP242 if the recipient needs assembly structure). From Fusion 360: right-click the component → Export → STEP, or GLB for a lightweight render. From Onshape: Export → STEP straight from the browser. Two useful habits: check the units (a model in inches imported as millimeters looks 25x too large) and, for a large assembly, convert the STEP to GLB to shrink the file before sharing.
