    STEP to GLB converter online

Drop a STEP or IGES file and get a web-ready GLB. Conversion runs inside your browser: your file never leaves your machine.

    STEP · STP · IGES · IGS — up to 100 MB

    Your file goes nowhere

Conversion uses WebAssembly and runs entirely in your browser tab. No upload, no copy, no retention. You can cut your connection once the page has loaded: the conversion will still work.

    Why convert STEP to GLB?

To display it on the web

STEP describes exact geometry (NURBS, solids) that browsers cannot draw. GLB carries a mesh ready for real-time rendering: it is what web viewers, mobile AR and 3D engines actually read.

    To make the file lighter

A STEP assembly of several tens of MB commonly drops to a few MB once meshed into GLB, with no visible difference on screen.

To send it to someone without a CAD licence

Opening a STEP requires SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360 or equivalent. A GLB opens on almost anything, including a phone.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is the conversion really free?

Yes, and no account is required. There is no quota, no watermark and no sign-up at the end. The GLB file is yours.

Is my file sent to your servers?

No. Conversion runs in your browser through WebAssembly (occt-import-js), inside a Web Worker. No network request carries your file. You can verify this in your browser's Network tab.

What is the difference between STEP and IGES?

Both are neutral CAD exchange formats. STEP (ISO 10303) is the modern standard and describes complete solids. IGES is older and often describes surfaces. Both are accepted here.

    Why is my file rejected?

The usual causes: a partially exported file, an extension that does not match the actual content, or an assembly too heavy for browser memory. The message shown states the detected cause.

    Are colours and materials preserved?

Colours carried by the STEP are passed to the GLB when present. A STEP file contains no textures, however: if you need them, they must be applied afterwards in a 3D tool.

    Is there a size limit?

Since conversion runs on your machine, the limit is your browser's memory. In practice, expect around 100 MB to work comfortably on a standard computer.
