GrabCAD Workbench shut down in June 2023. OmniView 3D picks up the same idea — upload CAD, get an interactive review link, install nothing — with European hosting and a free plan to start.
GrabCAD is gone — your models deserve better than an email with the raw file

GrabCAD Workbench ended its service in June 2023. Stratasys, the owning company, decided to permanently discontinue the CAD sharing and review platform. User data was deleted and the service is no longer reachable.
OmniView 3D is the most direct alternative: upload STEP, IGES, GLB and FBX files, generate an interactive viewer link in 60 seconds, with no account required on the recipient side. Hosted in Europe, free plan available. For enterprise PDM needs, alternatives such as Onshape or PTC Windchill exist, but at far higher cost and complexity.
Upload your STEP or GLB file to OmniView 3D. Get a shareable link. Send it by email or Slack. Your colleagues open the interactive 3D model straight in their browser — no installation, no account, no training.
Yes. GrabCAD Workbench versioned CAD files, showed 3D previews directly in the interface, and shared interactive review links. Google Drive stores files but does not open them — your recipient receives a STEP file they cannot view without CAD software.
Yes. OmniView 3D generates a viewer link, not a download link. Your CAD file stays on our secure servers in Europe. The recipient can view and rotate the model in their browser but cannot download the source file. You can revoke access at any time.
GrabCAD Workbench is hosted on US servers. With OmniView 3D, your CAD models are stored exclusively in the European Union (AWS eu-west-1, Ireland). GDPR compliance out of the box — no contractual clauses to negotiate, no transatlantic transfer risk. A decisive argument for sensitive projects, defence contracts and healthcare.
OmniView 3D replaces GrabCAD Workbench in 60 seconds: upload CAD, get a review link, hosted in Europe.
Upload my first 3D model — it's freeFree · No credit card · Hosted in Europe
GrabCAD Workbench shut down in 2023, so there is no active use case left for that product. The GrabCAD Community marketplace is still worth using to find royalty-free 3D models (robots, standard parts, everyday objects) — nothing replaces it directly for that specific purpose.
