GLTF (GL Transmission Format) is the web standard 3D format, designed by the Khronos Group for efficient loading and rendering in browsers and applications. Unlike GLB (its binary counterpart), GLTF is a human-readable JSON file that references external assets (.bin for geometry, images for textures). GLTF is a text format (JSON) that references external files (.bin and separate images). GLB is the binary version packaged into a single file. For easy sharing, GLB is more convenient (one file). GLTF is preferable when you need to edit the JSON or use separate assets in a web pipeline.
